The Colorado Book Club Resource (formerly the SWIFT Book Club) is a service of the Colorado State Library. The Colorado State Library is a state agency that operates under the jurisdiction of The Colorado Department of Education.
The mission of the Colorado Book Club Resource is to aid libraries around the state in their efforts to supply their patron book clubs with multiple copies of the same title. It is sometimes difficult for libraries to gather enough copies of the same book through the Inter-Library Loan (ILL) services to supply their reading groups. We offer over 100 different titles that are available for librarians to check out. This often serves to alleviate frustration in the library community.
We also serve to keep books in circulation and available to the library community at large. Books that may not be appropriate for a single library to continue to house may be donated to the greater good while still maintaining availability to state’s libraries.
